Update – Fifty four arrested arrested in Mirihana protest

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A protest was held last night near Pangiriwatta Mawatha in Mirihana, blocking the entrance to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa’s residence.

Police have arrested 54 persons including a woman.

Meanwhile, it is reported that a police bus, a jeep, a police vehicle and an army bus were set on fire during the protest.

A police spokesman said that an Assistant Superintendent of Police and five officers had been hospitalized in the incident.
