(UTV | COLOMBO) – Former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shani Abeysekara and 2 other suspects, who were arrested on charges of providing false evidence before Court, have been further remanded until 16 October.
The order was issued by Gampaha Magistrate’s Court when the case was taken up for hearing once again this morning (02).
The trio was arrested and remanded on charges of providing false evidence, in an investigation conducted into former Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Vaas Gunawardena, who was sentenced to death.
