(UTV | COLOMBO) – Island-wide power cuts will be imposed today as well.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka said 5-hour-and-15-minute power cuts will be imposed in areas designated as P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W.
Accordingly, a 2-hour-and-45-minute power cut will be imposed between 8.30am and 4.45pm while a 2-hour-and-30-minute power cut will be imposed between 4.45pm and 9.45pm.
The PUCSL said 4 hour-and-40-minute power cuts will be imposed in areas A, B and C.
A 2-hour-and-40-minute power cut will be imposed between 8.30am and 4.30pm while a two-hour power cut will be imposed between 4.30pm and 10.30pm.
The Ceylon Electricity Board requested permission for scheduled power cuts owing to the inability of power plants to operate due to the fuel shortage.
