Fine on traders who sell rice at higher prices

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Cabinet of Ministers yesterday (28) approved the imposition of a fine of Rs. 100,000 on traders who sell rice at higher prices.

At present the fine is Rs. 2500.

However, the Cabinet has decided to increase the fine as a price control measure in view of the continuous increase in the price of rice in the market.
