Excise Official arrested with drugs interdicted

(UTV | COLOMBO) – A guard attached to the Department of Excise who was arrested by the Police Special Task Force with a stock of narcotics known as Mandy, worth nearly Rs.10 million, has been interdicted.

He was interdicted based on an order issued by the Commissioner General of Excise.

Issuing a statement, the Excise Department said the relevant official was appointed as a guard recently after completing his probation period.

The Police STF earlier today arrested three suspects with a stock of Mandy worth Rs.10 million.

The Excise officer was among the three suspects.
