Evidence hearing in Eknaligoda case to begin

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The examination of evidence of the aggrieved in the case on the abduction and disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda against nine Intelligence Unit officers will commence today.

The evidence will be heard before the Permanent High Court at Bar.

The Attorney General filed charges against nine Intelligence Unit officers on charges of kidnapping and murdering journalist Eknaligoda on the 25th of January 2010 or a date closer to the 25th.

The order was issued by a three-member bench comprising judges Sampath Abeykoon, Sampath Wijeratne and Gihan Kulathunga.
