Easter Sunday Attacks case : IGP arrives at the Court

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Inspector General of Police CD Wickramaratne has arrived at the Colombo High Court, to provide evidence related to the Easter Sunday Attacks case filed against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara.

IGP Wickramaratne was summoned to provide evidence in relation to the case.

The order was issued last week when the case was taken up before the High Court bench comprising of Justices Namal Balalle, Adithya Patabendige, and Mohamed Irshadeen.

The case has been filed against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara over the failure to prevent the 2019 Easter Sunday Attacks despite receiving intelligence reports prior to the bombings.

855 indictments each have been filed by the Attorney General against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando over their failure to prevent the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
