“Don’t open primary schools during A/L Exams” – Stalin

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) has opposed the decision by the government to open primary schools during the GCE Advanced Level Examination.

The Chief Secretary of the Union Joseph Stalin said all schools should be closed by the 7th of February.

Meanwhile, Joseph Stalin also commented on the increase in the number of coronavirus infections within the school system.

He said the government’s decision to summon all children to school on the 10th of January increased the spread of the virus among school children.

He said schools are functioning at full capacity and they are unable to conduct meetings.

Stalin said therefore all schools should close on the 7th of February and must reopen only during the first week of March while strictly adhering to health guidelines.
