DIG Lionel Gunathilaka appointed STF Commandant

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The National Police Commission (NPC) has approved the appointment of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Lionel Gunathilaka as the new Commandant of the Police Special Task Force (STF).

The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickramaratne is due to be notified of the appointment.

DIG Lionel Gunathilaka has previously served as the Deputy Commandant of the STF.

The Commandant of the Police STF Senior DIG M. R. Latheef retired from his position recently.
