Court dismisses MS request to nullify Easter charges

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Colombo District Court has dismissed a request by Former President Maithripala Sirisena to release him of charges filed against him over the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.

The order was issued by Colombo Additional District Judge Chathurika Silva this afternoon.

The request was tabled in Court on the 29th of November last year.

The Former President requested to nullify cases naming him as the first accused in the Easter Sunday attacks, without taking it up for consideration.
