Compensation for public servants infected with COVID-19

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the relevant officials to formulate a scheme to pay compensation from the Agrahara Insurance Fund to the public servants who are receiving treatment at home after being infected with COVID-19.

The Prime Minister has stated this during a discussion held at Temple Trees yesterday with the representatives of the trade unions of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Trade Union and the United Trade Unions.

As the then Minister of Finance, Prime Minister Rajapaksa had taken steps to implement the Agrahara Insurance Compensation Scheme in this year’s budget proposals for the treatment of COVID deaths and hospitalizations of public servants.
