(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Criminal Investigation Department has arrested another suspect over the purchase of the controversial stock of garlic from Lanka Sathosa.
The suspect was revealed to be a 25-year-old resident of Bambalapitiya. Police revealed the individual as the son of the businessman who purchased the stock of garlic from Sathosa.
The youth was arrested under charges of falsifying documents in the fraud amounting to Rs.11,719,020 while aiding and abetting the crime and possession of stolen items.
The suspect will be produced before the Welisara Magistrates Court today.
