Chinese Defence Minister arrives in Sri Lanka today

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Chinese State Councillor and Defence Minister General Wei Fenghe will arrive in Sri Lanka today on a two day official visit, the Government Information Department confirmed.

He will hold bilateral discussions with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and senior officials. This will be the second-highest visit by a Chinese official following senior Chinese diplomat, Yang Jiechi’s visit in October.

The visit is arranged under the air-bubble concept due to COVID-19.
