Certain sections of Southern Expressway to be reopened

(UTV | COVID-19) – The Road Development Authority (RDA) has decided to reopen a certain section of the Southern Expressway from today, in line with the relaxing of the islandwide curfew in 18 Districts.

The Authority closed all expressways as an islandwide curfew came into effect from 20 March to curb the spread of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.

The RDA said the Kottawa to Hambantota stretch of the Southern Expressway will be reopened for the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from today.

The Colombo to Katunayake highway and the extension to Hambantota via the Southern Expressway will be reopened for the public from Wednesday (22), in line with the relaxing of the curfew in the remaining Districts.
