Bangladesh Bank has halted ACU transactions with SL

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Asian Clearing Union (ACU) payment system is not to be used for any business transactions with Sri Lanka, according to Bangladesh Bank, the central bank of Bangladesh.

According to a statement from the Bangladesh Bank, all banks have been instructed not to engage in any trade or business-related transactions with Sri Lanka through the ACU.

The Asian Clearing Union is a system for the settlement of interregional payments. It was founded in 1974 under the direction of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.
