(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 85 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours on charges of violating quarantine regulations.
Accordingly a total of 80,560 persons have been arrested on the relevant charges since October last year.
Police said 2,372 persons travelling in 1,367 vehicles were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province yesterday.
273 persons travelling in 157 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
