Retired Customs Inspector arrested with gold at BIA

UTV | COLOMBO – Retired Customs inspector aged 65 from Ja-Ela area has been apprehended by the Bandaranaike International Airport Customs with 2.45kgs of gold jewellery.

The estimated value was Rs. 14 million. The gold was hidden inside a worn waste girdle.

According to the preliminary investigations these gold had been brought from Dubai by a smuggler and handed over to the suspect, sources reveals.
