Rs. 6 million worth mobile phones detected at BIA

UTV | COLOMBO – Sri Lanka Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) have apprehended 3 Sri Lankans arrived from Dubai and Guangzhou, China while trying to smuggle in 2,000 mobile phones to the country.

The estimated value of the devices was Rs. 6 million and the suspects have brought in those mobile phones without the approval of Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC).

The phones were detained by the Customs at the BIA for further investigations.
