(UTV | COLOMBO) – A total of 417 prisoners have received special pardons in view of the National Prisoners’ Day.
Accordingly, 413 male prisoners and four female inmates were released yesterday.
The Department of Prisons said 165 inmates were pardoned based on the time they spent in prisons while 252 prisoners who were held for failing to pay fines have also been pardoned and released in view of the National Prisoners’ Day yesterday.
