The All-Party Conference is not in favor of the state

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has said there is no point in calling an all-party conference to support the government.

Speaking to the media in Colombo, the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, former President Maithripala Sirisena, said the conference was aimed at resolving the crisis facing the people and not strengthening the government.

He added that all political leaders have a responsibility to help the country recover from the current crisis.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena has said that while some political leaders have said they will attend the conference, some have rejected the invitation on the basis of their policies.

However, the leader of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party called on all parties to attend the conference to express their views and work out a program to get rid of the burdens of the people.
