(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Education says only 2,922 applications have been submitted by prospective students to sit for this year’s GCE Advanced Level Examination while only 6,589 applications have been sent to sit for the Grade Five Scholarship Examination.
The deadline to accept applications for both exams ends today.
School applicants must send in their applications to the Education Ministry through principals.
However, principal unions who are on strike at present over salary anomalies decided recently that they will not ratify the applications of the Advanced Level students.
Accordingly, the number of applications submitted to the Education Ministry remains low.
The Ministry owing to the coronavirus situation in the country has not announced the examination dates thus far.
