Concerns raised about the inability to cover the A/L syllabus

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Minister of Education Dinesh Gunawardena says attention has been drawn towards concerns that teachers will not be able to cover the syllabus of students sitting for this year’s GCE Advanced Level Examination before the conduct of the exam.

Education Minister Gunawardena said several rounds of discussions have been held with the Commissioner General of Examinations regarding the matter.

He was responding to a question raised by former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Parliament this morning.

Former Premier Wickremesinghe has stated that a number of factions had raised concerns with him about the inability to cover the A/L syllabus before the conduct of the exam.

The former Prime Minister Wickremesinghe requested the Education Minister to take prompt measures to cover the syllabus of A/L students.

In response, Minister Gunawardena said they are taking all measures to cover the syllabus and further discussions will be held with authorities to provide a solution amidst the on-going strike action.
