Clashes among teachers’ unions

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Teachers Union (CTU) says that the statements made by some principals’ associations that their struggle to rectify salary anomalies has concluded are false.

CTU Secretary, Joseph Stalin, said some groups were working to sabotage the trade union action, which is being carried out by teachers and principals.

Meanwhile, the Principal Graders’ Association, which is currently engaged in a trade union action, had decided to submit only the applications for this year’s GCE Advanced Level examination by tomorrow.

However, the President of the Association Nimal Mudunkotuwa stated that no decision has been taken so far to submit scholarship applications.

The Teachers ‘and Principals’ Trade Union Alliance emphasized that they will continue to implement their trade union action.

The trade union action which was launched by withdrawing from online academic activities continues for the 72nd day.
