Daily train journeys limited to 64 due to travel ban

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Railways says only 64 train journeys will be in operation daily from today, following the imposition of strict travel restrictions.

Accordingly, trains along the Main line will be limited to the Ambepussa station, trains plying along the Puttalam line will be limited to the Kochchikade station while Coastal line trains will not travel beyond the Aluthgama station due to inter-provincial travel restrictions.

General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways Dhammika Jayasundara informed NewsRadio that today 10 trains along the Main line, 22 along the Coastal line and eight along the Kelani Valley line will function.
