Nurses to report sick leave for two days

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Some nursing trade unions stated that they will launch a trade union action today(01) and tomorrow(02) over several demands including promotions and amending the nursing constitution.

Accordingly, the nurses will report sick in those two days.

Government Nurses Association President Saman Rathnapriya stated that this trade union action will not be carried out at COVID treatment centres and specialized hospitals.

He also added that emergency and essential services will continue.

The All Ceylon Nurses Association is also engaged in a trade union action to report sick leave today (01) and tomorrow (02).

The Public Service United Nurses Association stated that they will engage in a trade union action to report sick leave today (01) and tomorrow (02) as there has been no positive response to previous discussions on nursing issues.
