(UTV| COLOMBO) – Thirty years after they first formed in the original “The Mighty Ducks,” the now adult actors who played the members of that young teen hockey team are reuniting for the upcoming sequel series “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” on the Disney+ service.
Joining series regular Emilio Estevez’s Coach Gordon Bombay are Elden Henson’s Fulton, Matt Doherty’s Averman, Vinny La Russo’s Adam Banks, Marguerite Moreau’s Connie, Garrett Henson’s Guy and Justin Wong’s Kenny Wu who are all set to guest-star in the sixth episode of the ten-episode series.
The first photos have been revealed and feature the team members back on the ice rink 24 years since the original trilogy wrapped in 1996.
The new series is set in present-day Minnesota where the Mighty Ducks have evolved from scrappy underdogs to an ultra-competitive, powerhouse youth hockey team.
After 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon) is unceremoniously cut from the Ducks, he and his mom, Alex (Lauren Graham), set out to build their own team of misfits to challenge the cutthroat, win-at-all-costs culture of youth sports today.
With the help of Gordon Bombay, they rediscover the joys of playing just for love of the game. “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” premieres on the service on March 26th with that sixth episode to air on April 30th.
