Automated PCR testing machine to speed up tests

(UTV | COLOMBO – The Rotary International Organisation has donated a completely automated PCR testing machine to the State Medical Research Institute to help speed up COVID-19 testing in Sri Lanka.

The President was made aware of the special PCR machine at the President’s Office.

The new PCR machine has been valued at over Rs.20 million.

The device will assist in minimising the strain exerted on human resources in the testing process, while doctors also highlighted the machines capacity for speed, accuracy and efficiency.

The new PCR testing device is also capable of detecting other forms of viruses that may be faced in future.
