New “Transformers” set for June, 2022

(UTV | Colombo) – Paramount has set a June 24th 2022 release date for a new film in the “Transformers” franchise.

Two live-action projects in the series are currently in development. One hails from scribe James Vanderbilt (“Murder Mystery”) and is said to be based on the “Beast Wars” spin-off where robots transform into robotic animals.

The other is by scribe Joby Harold (“King Arthur: Legend of the Sword”) and is reportedly set in the Bumblebee universe. It’s currently not yet clear which one will make it to production first.

These are separate from Cybertron-set animated prequel from scribes Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (“Ant-Man and the Wasp”). That project hired Josh Cooley (“Toy Story 4”) to helm earlier this week with Cooley overseeing a final draft with the writers at present.
