Two Sri Lankans among UAE coronavirus cases

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Two Sri Lankans are among the 15 new cases of coronavirus reported in the United Arab Emirates.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention today announced 15 new cases of coronavirus, taking to 74 the total number of infections in the country.

The new cases include three Italians, two Sri Lankan, two Emiratis, two Brits, two Indians, and one from Germany, one person each from South Africa, Tanzania, and Iran.

Gulf News reported the group has already been quarantined and were detected through the implementation of preventive measures.

The Ministry said they are among those who were in contact with confirmed coronavirus cases and patients coming from overseas.

The Ministry statement said all new cases are in stable condition.

The Ministry also claimed that five new COVID-19 recoveries have been reported, taking the total number of recovered cases to 17.

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention added that several precautionary measures have been put in place, including the installation of detection thermal imaging systems and health checks at the country’s border entry points, and isolating confirmed and suspected cases.
