Rain in Sri Lanka to continue and enhance further

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology forecasted that the prevailing showery condition is expected to enhance to some extent over the island in next few days.

Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur at several places today (20).

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, and North-Western Provinces, while fairly heavy falls about 100 millimetres are likely at some places.

Several spells of showers may occur in Anuradhapura, Jaffna, and Mannar Districts, the Meteorology Department stated, adding that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Uva Province, and in Ampara, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa Districts after 2.00 this evening.

Furthermore, fairly heavy falls above 50 millimetres are likely at some places.
