“Halloween” sequel to film this fall

(UTV|COLOMBO) – When the recent “Halloween” revival not only drew good reviews but $255 million worldwide box-office on a $10 million production budget, you can bet a sequel and the return of Michael Myers was inevitable.

Multiple sources tell Collider that Blumhouse’s “Halloween 2” is gearing up to start shooting after Labor Day with Universal to likely target an October 16th 2020 release – a date already set aside for an untitled Blumhouse project.

Jamie Lee Curtis is highly likely to return as Laurie Strode, as are Judy Greer and Andi Matichak as Laurie’s daughter and granddaughter. Talent deals have yet to close however.

David Gordon Green wrote the script for the follow-up and is expected to return, taking the helm again after directing last year’s refresh. Blum, Malek Akkad and Bill Block will produce while Green, Curtis, Danny McBride, John Carpenter and Couper Samuelson are likely to executive produce.
