(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sony Pictures will be keeping their partnership with Marvel Studios running if they can as the success of “Avengers: Endgame” looks to be having a knock-on effect on their next collaboration.
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” is set to close out the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is tipped to dominate the July 4th holiday weekend.
The first long-range tracking figures for that weekend are now in with Box-Office Pro reporting that the ‘Homecoming’ sequel is currently eyeing a $90-120 million haul for its opening weekend and up to $190-230 million over the six-day holiday period (it opens on a Tuesday, while July 4th is on a Thursday).
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” nabbed $117 million in its opening weekend, but it opened on a Friday so an apples-to-apples comparison is pointless. “Spider-Man: Far From Home” recently posted a full trailer online which racked up a massive 135 million trailer views during its first day of release.
“Spider-Man: Far From Home” hits cinemas on July 2nd.
