Sri Lanka improved in global press freedom rankings

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka has improved in press freedom this year climbing five notches up compared to last year in the ‘World Press Freedom Index 2019.’

Accordingly, the global press freedom rankings by ‘Reporters Without Boarders’, ranked Sri Lanka at 126th place out of 180 countries.

Last year Sri Lanka was placed at the 131st rank.

The Index ranks 180 countries and regions according to the level of freedom available to Journalists.
