(UTV|COLOMBO) – The possibility for evening thundershowers is high over the island on today (16) and tomorrow (17), the Department of Meteorology stated.
Showers or thundershowers will occur over most parts of the island after 2.00 PM. Showers can occur in the Eastern Province and Polonnaruwa District in the morning too.
Severe lightning activities are also possible in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-Western Provinces, and in Galle and Matara Districts, the Met. Department stressed, adding that heavy falls about 100 millimetres can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva Provinces, and in Kurunagala, Galle and Matara Districts.
