11,000 medicine packages delivered islandwide

The Department of Government Information says over 11,000 packages containing essential medicine, have been distributed under the initiative to deliver essential medicines to homes islandwide.

The government launched the initiative in order to ensure that citizens do not face any shortages of required medicines, amidst the ongoing curfew imposed in the island.

The Department of Postal Services said accordingly 11,765 parcels have been distributed based on public requests thus far.

The Department of Government Information said the initiative will continue to be carried out during curfew, for the benefit of the general public.
