(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Speaker’s chair has toppled in parliament today (09th Thursday).

This occurred when the United National Party (UNP) Parliamentarian (MP) Ananda Kumarasiri was leaving the speaker’s chair to hand over the seat to United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Shehan Semasinghe.

Joint Opposition (JO) MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage was expressing his views in parliament at this time.

The speaker’s chair that got toppled was adjusted by MP Shehan Semasinghe and continued the activities of the House, our correspondent stated.
