State institutions to be inspected for dengue

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Health has taken steps to conduct a special inspection of state institutions with the intent of preventing the spread of dengue.

The National Dengue Prevention Unit (NDPU) said an island wide dengue prevention programme will be conducted today (24th Tuesday), while the public will be educated through social media.

Under the dengue prevention programme, individual state institutions have initially been directed to conduct their own inspections of the premises.

Accordingly, the National Dengue Control Unit said a second inspection of state institutions is scheduled to be carried out by Health inspectors on the 26th and 27th of January.

The program is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Dengue Prevention Presidential Task Force.
