(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Collection of Electoral registers in the flood affected areas has been extended by 10-days, said Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.
He said that this decision was taken considering the situation in the affected areas, but the Electoral registers in the other Districts will be collected on the due date.
He said a flexible system will be introduced for Differently abled people to cast their votes while Election Commission is considering of introducing a special voting system for people such as journalists who do not have the right for postal voting, said Mr. Deshapriya.
