(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ceylon Electricity Board says that there will be a power cut island wide today (08) as well.
Accordingly, there will be a power cut of 07 hours and 30 minutes in E and F zones and 3 hours in other zones, the CEB said.
There will be power cuts in Zone E from 8.00 am to 01.00 pm and from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm and for Zone F there will be power cuts from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm and from 8.30 pm to 11.00 pm.
In addition, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has planned to cut off power to T, U, V, W, R, S, P, Q zones for two hours during the day and one hour at night.
The Public Utilities Commission has also given permission for the relevant power cuts.
Meanwhile, steps have been taken to import fuel directly for the CEB, said Minister of Energy Gamini Lokuge.
The Minister pointed out that it will be possible to stop the power cut in the next few days.
Minister Gamini Lokuge stated that the fuel and electricity crisis in the country was discussed at length at the Cabinet meeting held yesterday (07) afternoon and solutions were also proposed.
