(UTV | COLOMBO) – PBS has released the official U.S. trailer for their new mini-series adaptation of Jules Verne’s “Around the World in 80 Days” with David Tennant taking on the role of gentleman adventurer Phileas Fogg.
The clip also introduces his companions – his valet Jean Passepartout (Ibrahim Koma) and journalist Abigail Fix (Leonie Benesch) as the 19th-century trio set out to circumnavigate the globe in only eighty days.
“Life On Mars” creator Ashley Pharoah served as head writer on the series which paints Fogg as an over-educated Englishman with a sense of wonder because he has never travelled.
The eight-episode series is set to premiere on January 2nd via Masterpiece PBS.
