The Galle High Court has issued a death sentence on an individual implicated in a murder that was reported in 2005.
Charges were filed against the individual for restraining and strangling a security officer at a house in Geethota Galle, and additionally stealing 3 million rupees from the same house.
The Galle High Court issued the verdict after the case was taken up over a long period of time.
However, Court also released another suspect implicated in the murder as it was proved that he was innocent.
Police said the individual who received the death sentence is a 34 year old resident of Yakkalamulla.
