Disney Pictures has released a 60-second TV spot, filled with new footage, for “Cruella” – their new “101 Dalmatians” live-action prequel/spin-off which serves as an origin story for villainess Cruella de Vil (Emma Stone).
Set in 1970s London, young fashion designer Estella de Vil becomes obsessed with dogs’ skins, especially Dalmatians, until she eventually becomes a ruthless and terrifying legend.
Emma Thompson co-stars as the Baroness, the head of a prestigious fashion house who hires Estella. Joel Fry and Paul Walter Hauser play Jasper and Horace Badun – Cruella’s loyal sidekicks.
Emily Beecham, Mark Strong, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Jamie Demetriou co-star in the Craig Gillespie-directed film which will open in cinemas on May 28th.
