UTV | COLOMBO – Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, who is retiring after 36 years of service, called on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this morning.
Piyal De Silva was appointed as the 23rd Navy Commander of Sri Lanka on the 1st of January, 2019.
The Head of State commended the services rendered by Piyal De Silva to the nation, and extended his well wishes for his retirement.
He was also promoted to the rank of Admiral by President Rajapaksa while the mementos were also exchanged during the meeting.
