(UTV | COLOMBO) – Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has requested the public to grant the present government a two thirds majority, to resolve the chaotic situation in the country.
Addressing a function at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Prime Minister Rajapaksa said the issues brought about through the introduction of the 19th and 13th amendments must be changed and in order achieve that the present administration requires a two thirds majority power in Parliament.
The Premier said he is confident of achieving the target adding that the people have also shown interest in achieving the goal.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa since the United National Party is divided, their goals can be achieved without an obstacle.
The Premier said President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has a clear vision for the future and noted that the Head of State works throughout the day.
Therefore, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa claimed that they will allow the President to work continuously while his faction will continue to engage in politics.
The Prime Minister noted that the President has introduced a plan to develop the country and he is prepared to carry out his programme effectively.
