UTV | COLOMBO – Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says policies of the United National Party must be implemented after the General Election in order to strengthen the country’s economy and provide relief to the public.
Speaking during a public gathering in Dehiwala, the UNP Leader emphasized the need to rebuild the household economy and address the debt servicing crisis.
The Former Prime Minister is of the view that any faction that takes over the government after the August General Election will be compelled to follow the policies of the UNP to streamline the economy.
Former Premier Wickremesinghe noted that after the 2015 election, the UNP-led administration successfully repaid all loan installments with interest despite inheriting a failing economy.
The Former Prime Minister stressed that the UNP-led administration after the Parliamentary Election will once again provide financial relief to all business owners and the general public through a systemic approach.
The UNP Leader said relief can be provided before the end of this year.
Therefore, the Former Prime Minister requested the voters to place their trust on the UNP and its policies and help overturn the fortunes of all Sri Lankans.
