(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police have arrested two suspects in possession of 1.955kg of the narcotic known as ICE and 201kg of Kerala Marijuana in Point Pedro and Periyakattu, Parayanakulum yesterday.
The suspect in possession of ICE was taken into custody during a raid carried out by Police Special Task Force personnel.
Police stated the suspect was arrested with the stock of narcotics which he was transporting in a van.
Meanwhile the seizure of over 200kg of Kerala Marijuana was carried out by Parayanakulam Police personnel based on a tip off received in this regard.
The stock of Marijuana was found concealed in a lorry which was travelling to Medawachchiya, Mannar.
Police revealed the Marijuana was contained within 87 parcels.
The two suspects arrested in this regard are to be produced before the Point Pedro and Vavuniya Magistrates’ Court.
