(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Attorney General’s Department informed Court today that indictments will be filed against Former Parliamentarian Patali Champika Ranawaka and former Officer-in-Charge of the Welikada Police Station Assistant Superintendent of Police Sudath Asmadala over the accident reported in Rajagiriya in 2016.
The complaint was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva this morning.
The Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris representing the Attorney General informed Court that the Criminal Investigations Department completed investigations into the motor accident.
The Deputy Solicitor General informed that separate indictments will be filed before the Colombo High Court in future.
Patali Champika Ranawaka was earlier arrested and released on bail in relation to the motor accident.
