Influenza N1H1 breaks out in Kilinochchi

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – A total of 244 individuals were identified with influenza N1H1 virus during the past three weeks in Kilinochchi area.

It is reported that 25 of them were pregnant mothers. Deputy Director of the Epidemiology Unit Dr. Samitha Ginige said the virus is spreading rapidly in Kilinochchi area.

He further added that pregnant mothers should seek medical consultation if suffering from coughing and colds.
