“We have no rift with the Joint Opposition” – SLFP

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Central Committee member former Minister Nandimithra Ekanayake says the journey of the SLFP will not be hindered if the Joint Opposition (JO) decides to withdraw from the party.

Speaking to a prominent online news portal in the isle, Mr. Ekanayake has stated that the SLFP has no rift with the Joint Opposition.

He said the President openly states that members of the SLFP are part and parcel of the Joint Opposition adding no action has been taken against any member pertaining to their behaviour.

However Ekanayake added he is attempting to strengthen the party and bring the party together as is the stance of all part members.

Nandimithra Ekanayake said if a member breaks away and attempts to contest under different parties they will have to suffer the consequences of their actions.
