Anura Senanayake to record statement at CID

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (SDIG) Anura Senanayake who was arrested over the murder case of former national rugby player Wasim Thajudeen is due to record a special statement at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) today (28th Tuesday).

The Senior DIG is due to record a statement over the abduction of several youths in Colombo in 2009.

Court granted permission to record a statement from Anura Senanayake during the on-going case over the abduction of the youth.

Former Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Anura Senanayake is currently in remand custody on charges of concealing evidence in the murder case of National rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
